About Lowedges Library

Lowedges Community Library is located at The Meeting Place, formerly known as the Terminus Cafe, which is run in partnership with The Terminus Initiative. The library is operated by the Friends of Greenhill Library, the group of volunteers who run the “parent” library in Greenhill. Start up of the library was funded by an award from the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund

The library is managed by Catherine, our engagement and events co-ordinator, who joined us in January 2022.

We have a good selection of over 1,200 books – thrillers, crime, biography and more, and a collection of audio books. We have a great assortment of children’s books too, and we can also supply batteries for NHS hearing aids. To use the library you will need to register. Registration is free, but adults need to bring some proof of address.

Opening hours: Monday 9-12.30 ad 1.30-4.30, Wednesdays 10-12.30 and 1.30-5

For details of one-off and regular events, see our Lowedges Events Page.

If you are interested in volunteering to help at the library please drop in and see us or you can apply on-line using this link. Alternatively, email catherine@greenhill-library.org.

We now have a laptop and a printer/copier available for you to use in the library during our opening hours. Laptop use is free for library members; or 50p for 30 minutes for non-members (it is free to become a member!)

Printing and copying (A4) costs just 2p per side for Black and White, 5p per side for colour.
