About Lowedges Library

Lowedges Community Library is now located at The Meeting Place, formerly known as the Terminus Cafe, which is run in partership with The Terminus Initiative. The library is operated by the Friends of Greenhill Library, the group of volunteers who run the “parent” library in Greenhill.

We have a good selection of over 1,200 books – thrillers, crime, biography and more, and a collection of audio books. We have a great assortment of children’s books too, and we can also supply batteries for NHS hearing aids. To use the library you will need to register. Registration is free, but adults need to bring some proof of address.

Start up of the library was funded by an award from the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, which has paid to equip the library and fund a part-time paid worker (Lucy) who is tasked to establish the library and train a small staff of volunteers who it is hoped will eventually  take over the running of the library.

Our first day of operation was Wednesday 19 May 2021. Initially our opening hours will be:

  • Mondays 10am to 1pm
  • Wednesdays 10am to 4 pm

The library will be run in a Covid Secure manner, with limited numbers allowed inside, until restrictions ease. Please be aware you may have to queue for a little while.

If you are interested in volunteering to help at the library please drop in and see us or you can apply on-line using this link
