Lowedges Community Library is located at The Meeting Place, formerly known as the Terminus Cafe, which is run in partership with The Terminus Initiative. The library is operated by the Friends of Greenhill Library, the group of volunteers who run the “parent” library in Greenhill.
We have a good selection of over 1,200 books – thrillers, crime, biography and more, and a collection of audio books. We have a great assortment of children’s books too, and we can also supply batteries for NHS hearing aids. To use the library you will need to register. Registration is free, but adults need to bring some proof of address.
Start up of the library was funded by an award from the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, which has paid to equip the library and fund a part-time paid worker (Lucy) who was tasked to establish the library and train a small staff of volunteers who it is hoped will eventually take over the running of the library. Lucy left the post at the beginning of November; we will be advertising for a replacement very soon but in the short term the library is operating on reduced hours:
- Wednesdays 10am to 1 pm
