Four pampered Central Park Zoo animals—Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo, and Melman the giraffe— are unexpectedly shipped back to Africa. After being shipwrecked on Madagascar, they must survive in the wild, forcing Alex to confront his predatory instincts and his friendship with Marty.
