Learn about W.E.S. Turner – his personality, expertise and interests. Learn about the history of glass-making, the role played by South Yorkshire and what made Turner specialise in glass in a city built on steel. See how the past was influenced by the availability of raw materials and energy, uncover the role of technological breakthroughs but also learn how glass manufacture has been moulded by societal changes and 2 world wars. Finally, we’ll examine the glass collection in the Museum itself.
