The Holdovers

A curmudgeonly instructor at a New England prep school remains on campus over Christmas to babysit a handful of students with nowhere to go. He soon forms an unlikely bond with a brainy but damaged troublemaker, and with the school’s head cook, a woman who just lost a son in the Vietnam War. A masterclass in melancholy.

Lilo and Stitch

Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly “dog,” whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren’t in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Dating from 2002, the movie led to several TV sequels, along with video games and theme park attractions.
