Coronavirus Information

Status update 11 July 2020

Our book drop sessions are now complete. Thanks to all who brought in donations and returned library books. Next week we’ll be launching a “click and collect” service. Initially, sessions will operate on Monday and Friday mornings starting on Friday 24 July. Starting on 16 July, you’ll be able to pre-order books and hearing aid batteries in three ways.

  1. Using a form on the web site. This is the preferred method.
  2. By completing a printed pre-order form (available from Key Homecare, next to Cello) and dropping it in the mailbox by the library entrance
  3. By phoning in your order to 0114 2377657. The phone will only be staffed during C&C sessions and at limited other times.

We’ll do our best to select books that match what you’ve requested (up to a maximum of five) and inform you either by phone or email when they are ready for collection. You’ll be able to pick up your books from the library lobby during C&C sessions. Please don’t come to collect books unless we’ve contacted you to confirm. There will also be drop-off boxes in the lobby for returned books. We regret we won’t be accepting more donated books for the time being as we have no space at the moment to quarantine them.

We’ll make a Facebook announcement and provide more detail on the web site when this goes live.

We’re also working on creating a “covid secure” environment to allow limited public access into the library in a way which is safe for both users and volunteers.  We have not set a date yet, so stay tuned!

In the meantime — stay safe and keep reading!
