Status update 3rd December 2020
We’re delighted to announce that we are now open again for browsing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2-4pm. You will need to wear a face covering and you’ll be asked to provide contact info for test-and-trace. Photocopying and printing are available and there is limited access to public computers.
Our “click and collect” service is still available. You can order books and hearing aid batteries in three ways.
- Using a form on the web site using this link. This is the preferred method.
- By completing a printed pre-order form (available from Key Homecare, next to Cello) and dropping it in the mailbox by the library entrance
- By phoning in your order to 0114 2377657. The phone will only be staffed at limited times.
The “collect” sessions currently operate from 10am – 12.00 on Monday and Friday mornings. Watch the video below for more information.
We’re busy decorating the library windows for Christmas but we need your help to make lots more paper snowflakes. See our snowflakes page for details.
We got a fantastic response to our fundraising call for Patrick Coghlan’s memorial bench, and have raised a total of £1,150. A huge thankyou to everyone who contributed. Roughly half the money will be used to buy the bench; the remainder will be used to enhance our book stock.
We have some free “lucky bags” available … a bag of four books of a selected genre for you to try. These are proving popular, but you can still pick one up from the lobby during “collect” sessions.
A good way to keep up to date with what’s going on is to subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter. More info here.
