Library Update 29 June 2025

Aided by excellent weather, our Open Gardens weekend (14/15 June) was a huge success and raised over £2,200. Thanks to all the gardeners who took part and all those who bought tickets. Thanks also to Kristi for all the behind-the-scenes work. There are photos here.

Registration is now open for our annual scarecrow festival which will run from 23 Aug to 6 Sept. This year’s theme is recycling. Join in the fun and get yourself on our scarecrow map here.

Our monthly lottery provides a way for you to support the library via a regular monthly donation, and a chance to win cash prizes. You can register online using this link, or pick up a paper registration form from the library. June’s winners were Linda Stevenson and Julia Greenwood.

Booking is now open for the following. You can book at the library or online at greenhill.bookwhen.com

  • Friday 4 July:  Evening Cinema: The Great Debaters
  • Friday 18 July:  The History of Sheffield’s Water Supply

The online public access catalogue (OPAC) for our yellow-sticker collection is at greenhil.salcirc.org. Here,  you can search the catalogue by author, title or genre. You can now also create a login, allowing you to place holds, renews books, and more. There are detailed instructions here.
